Leslie John Grigsbey enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 21 on the 20th of April 1916. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Insurance Canvasser. He volunteered and was stationed with the 8th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement as Regimental number 6512. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 22nd of August 1919.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Leslie J. Grigsby.
