Biography

Patrick James Rouhan was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was married to Mrs Dora Rouhan of Highway Farm, Uxbridge, Middlesex, England and was a Bootmaker when he enlisted in the 24th Battalion, 18th Reinforcement on 17 October 1916 at the age of 33. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 Hororata on 23 November 1916. However, a serious bout of chronic phthisis (tuberculosis of the lungs) saw that he was sent back to Australia for medical discharge on 24 June 1916 as unfit for service abroad.
