Biography

Patrick Phillip Flynn was born in Harrow, VIC and was a Labourer by trade when he enlisted in the 8th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement on 29 July 1916 at the age of 27. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on 2 October 1916. He enlisted two months after James, embarked on the Nestor in early October, and served on the Western Front with the 8th Battalion. He avoided physical battle wounds but was hospitalised in 1917 with Trench Fever. He returned on the Suevic.

His brother, SN 2076 James Vincent Flynn (Tree No 2399) also served.
