Born in Ballarat, Cecil James Guy was a single 23 year old battery hand at the time of his enlistment on the 7th of July 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on the 11th of September 1916.
On October 4th 1917 he was reported as being wounded in action.
He returned to Australia on the 27th of July 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 10th of September 1919.
