Fred Bayley Watts enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 19 on the 5th of August 1915. He had been born in Deptford, England, was single, and was employed as a Farm Hand. He volunteered and was stationed with the 4th ANZAC Battalion later transferring to the 9th Light Horse Regiment as Regimental number 1817. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 19th of August 1919. Tree number 2409.
