Frederick Charles Wright (SN 473) was born in Ararat and educated at Geelong College. He was a 23 year old clerk when he enlisted in Melbourne on May 29th 1916. He joined the Australian Flying Corps, embarking in July and reaching Egypt in August. Ill health then plagued him for several months. On August 29th 1917 he was killed by a discharge from a revolver bullet. A Court of Enquiry was unable to determine if the wound was self-inflicted or accidental. He is buried at Deir el Belah War Cemetery, Israel.
