Biography

Born in Ballarat, Victoria and a Lunacy Hospital attendant by occupation, Frederick William Bastian 44 years and married when enlisted on the 30th of June 1916 in the Hospital Transport Corps, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 14531. His Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board No 2 Hospital Ship 'Kanowa' on the 25th of September 1917. Transferred to Southwell Hospital on the 15th of September 1916. Marched into No. 2 Australian Command Depot Weymouth from Southall on the 22nd of September 1916. Embarked return to Australia on the 12th of November 1916 per H.T. 'Wiltshire' from Portland æRheumatism'. Disembarked at Melbourne for Rheumatism on the 31st of December 1916. Discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 31st of January 1917. Tree No. 2428
