Biography

Charles Henry Gist (SN 57) was born in Ballarat and attended the Humffray Street State School. He was 21, single and a clerk when he enlisted in South Melbourne on September 8th 1914. He embarked from Melbourne aboard the Ulysses on December 22nd.
While serving with the 14th Battalion he was killed in action at Gallipoli on 27th April 1915. He is buried in Quinn's Post Cemetery, Gallipoli.
