Biography

Born in Albert Park, Victoria, George Leverett was a single 21 year old hotel porter at the time of his enlistment on the 7th of June 1916 in Melbourne, Victoria. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A16 Port Melbourne on the 21st of October 1916.
On the 6th of July 1917, George was appointed Driver.
Whilst serving abroad, George married Louisa Lucas on the 1st of May 1919 at Clifton in England.
George returned to Australia on the 22nd of September 1919 and was discharged on the 6th of November 1919.
