Charles Marshall Lippiatt (SN 2107) was born in Buninyong and attended the Scotsburn State School. He was a farmer at Scotsburn when he enlisted on June 16th 1916. 23 years old and single, he was posted to the 39th Infantry Battalion. He embarked from Melbourne in September on board the Shropshire and arrived in France just before Christmas. He was killed in action on May 29th 1917, and is buried in the Strand Military Cemetery, Belgium.
