Frank Duke was born in Ballarat and enlisted from there on 7th November 1916. He was 22 years old, single and a railway shunter. He was posted to the 38th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 3133A. He was appointed Lance Corporal. He was killed in the fighting at Mont St. Quentin on 31st August 1918, and is buried in the Peronne Communal Cemetery, France.
