Robert Alexander Quanchie enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 24 on the 19th of June 1916. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was Married, and was employed as a Grocer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 8th Battalion, 20th Reinforcement as Regimental number 6328. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 9th of July 1919.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Robert Quanchi.
