George Henry Buddle (SN 11667) born at Ballarat, was a 21 year old motor mechanic when he enlisted in Melbourne on March 16th 1916. He embarked from Melbourne aboard the Afric on June 5th and sailed to England. In November he crossed to France to serve as a driver with the 3rd Division Motor Transport Company. Aside from a couple of charges relating to the management of his vehicle, he came through the war without major incident. He returned to Australia aboard the Persic, disembarked on August 29th 1919 and was discharged on October 13th.
