Biography

Born in Ballarat, John Alfred Hooley was a single 21 year old carpenter at the time of his enlistment on the 26th of April 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board RMS Mooltan on the 18th of May 1915.
On December 29th 1915 John was promoted to Corporal. He was promoted again in January 1918 on the 28th to Lance Sergeant.
John returned to Australia on the 7th of April 1919 and his appointment was terminated on the 30th of May 1919.
