Biography

Born in Ballarat, William Hanson was a single 28 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 27th of July 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on the 20th of October 1916.
On June 7th 1917, William was wounded in action after being gassed. He embarked for England to be admitted to hospital on the 12th of June 1917.
William was discharged on the 21st of July 1920.
