Joseph Pattie was born in Ballarat and enlisted from there on 1st October 1914. He was a 19 year, old unmarried, iron moulder. He was sent to the 14th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 766. On 28th November 1916 he was killed near Gueudecourt, and is buried in Bull's Road Cemetery, Flers, France.
