Cyril Henry Wright Pascoe was born in Mortlake, VIC and was a Tailor in Ballarat when he enlisted in the 37th Battalion, 7th Reinforcement on 2 October 1916 at the age of 22. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A70 Ballarat on 19 February 1917. While in France, on 10 October 1917, he was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to the left foot. The wound proved troublesome, resulting in being sent home to Australia on 9 May 1919 and receiving a medical discharge from service on 9 February 1920.
