Biography

Born in Warnambool, Victoria and a Labourer by trade, Arthur Binch was 27 years and single when enlisted on the 9th of October 1916 in the 7th Battalion, 23rd Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 7103. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 'Hororata' on the 23rd of November 1916. On the 5th of August 1918 admitted to Hospital sick Influenza and on the 6th transferred to CCS (Casualty Clearance Station) and rejoined Unit on the 24th of August 1918 in France. And was listed as returned to Australia on the 13th of July 1919 per 'Rumic' ex England. Disembarked on the 29th of August 1919 and discharged from the 3rd Military District with the Termination of period of Enlistment on the 6th of October 1919. Tree No.2552
