Biography

Leslie Jack Smith was born in Finley, NSW, and enlisted as a pastry cook from Ballarat on 1st October 1914. He was 18 years old and single. He was drafted to 14th Infantry Battalion with Regimental No. 661. On 27th May 1915 he was killed in the trenches at Gallipoli, and buried in Shrapnel Gully Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
