Biography

Born in Clunes, Victoria, Edward Jones was a single 23 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 20th of October 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 Hororata on the 23rd of November 1916.
On the 5th of October 1918 Edward was reported as wounded in action.
He was invalided to England and admitted to Norfolk War Hospital on the 9th of October 1918 with gunshot wounds to his hand and shoulder.
On the 9th of March 1920 Edward returned to Australia and was discharged on the 23rd of April 1920 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
