Colin Campbell Elliott (SN 33288) born at Ballarat, was a 22 year old fitter when he enlisted in Melbourne on October 20th 1916. On May 11th he embarked aboard the Shropshire for overseas service with the 21st Field Artillery Brigade. Aside from a stay at Bulford Hospital and a couple of discipline breaches he had no major problem until he developed a lung illness in late 1917. He was returned home on the Llanstephen Castle, disembarked on April 10th 1918 and was discharged ‘medically unfit’ on May 29th.
