Biography

Henry Troon (SN 2019) was born in Ballarat and enlisted as a fitter from Wendouree on September 12th 1914. He was 26 years old and single. He joined the 4th Field Ambulance as a trained medical assistant and sailed from Melbourne aboard the Berrima on December 22nd. He was severely wounded at Gallipoli, and during his evacuation to Egypt he died on May 6th 1915, and is buried at sea between Anzac Cove and Alexandra. With no known grave, his name is listed on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
