Biography

Henry Troon was born in Ballarat and enlisted as a fitter from Wendouree on 12th September 1914. He was 26 years old and single. He joined the 4th Field Ambulance as a trained medical assistant. His Regimental No. was 2019 (2054 as per Nominal Roll). He was severely wounded at Gallipoli, and during his evacuation to Egypt he died on 6th May 1915, and is buried at sea between Anzac Cove and Alexandra. His name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
