Eric Gordon Williams was a single 24 year old telegraphist when he enlisted on the 29th of June 1917. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on the 21st of November 1917. He returned to Australia on the 26th of March 1919 and was discharged on the 18th of April 1919.
