Biography

Roy McDonald Park was born in Ballarat and was a Printer when he enlisted in the 1st Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train on 20 March 1915 at the age of 21. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board A39 Port Macquarie on 4 June 1915. On 25 January 1917 he transferred from the 2nd Field Ambulance to the 18th Field Ambulance as a Driver before being sent to Hospital as sick. He was able to return to his unit on from Hospital on 27 November 1917 but returned to Australia 6 June 1918 from England and received a final medical discharge on 31 July 1918.
