Biography

Robert Edward Henry Rowe was born in West Melbourne, Victoria, was married to Mrs Bertha Rowe or Wilson Street, Colac, Victoria and was a Railway employee living in Ballarat when he enlisted in the 3rd Australian Casualty Clearing Station on 14 August 1915 at the age of 29. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A7 Medic on 20 May 1916. Other than a brief admission to hospital sick with influenza, according to his records Pte Rowe completed his tour without major incident, illness or injury, returning home to Australia on 15 May 1919.
