Biography

Born in Sebastopol, Victoria and a Collar Maker by trade, Phillip Duncan Cairns was 18 years and single when enlisted on the 19th of July 1915. Private appointed Driver on the 1st of June 1917; saddler on the 16th of July 1917. Saddler Embarked H.M.A.T., A32 'Themistocles' on the 4th of August 1917. Embarked for return to Australia per 'Ceramic' ex England on the 27th of September 1919 and Discharged as medically unfit on the 27th of October 1919. Tree No. 2614
