Biography

Herbert Kent Williams was a single 20 year old blacksmith when he enlisted on the 12th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A15 Port Sydney on the 7th of September 1916. On the 25th of August 1918 he was transferred to the 2nd Field Ambulance. On the 24th of September 1918 he was appointed Driver. Herbert was promoted to Lance Corporal on the 24th of November 1918. He reverted back to a Driver on the 17th of February 1919. He returned to Australia on the 25th of August 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 27th of October 1919.
