Biography

John Harold Wilson was born in Ballarat but educated at Maryborough Grammar, Qld, and Otago University, NZ. He was a 29 year old engineer, married to Eva, when he enlisted on July 23rd 1915. He was appointed Lieutenant in the 37th Infantry Battalion, embarking from Melbourne in October and reaching France in July 1917. On July 21st 1917 he was killed in action near Messines, Belgium, and is buried in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery, Neuve-Eglise, Belgium
