Biography

Percy Roy Donald (SN 13280), born in Ballarat, was a 23 year old painter when he enlisted on September 1st 1915. He joined the 13th Field Ambulance and embarked on March 7th 1916 aboard the Karoola. He reached France in June 1916 but in November he was evacuated suffering severe appendicitis. He was then returned to Australia aboard the Barambah, disembarked on June 6th 1917 and was discharged on August 3rd, ‘medically unfit, debility following appendicitis’.
