Biography

Thomas Henry Ryan was born in Horsham, Victoria, was single and a Labourer when he enlisted in the 35th Battalion, B Company on 31 December 1915 at the age of 27. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A24 Benalla on 1 May 1916. It seems as soon as he reached London he went missing for unknown reasons and failed to report in for duty, resulting in a forfeiture of pay and discharge on 21 July 1920.
