Biography

Born in Ballarat, George Richard Vincent Huggins was a single 25 year old labourer when he enlisted in Horsham, Victoria on the 28th of February 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln on the 4th of May 1916.
On September 26th 1917, George was wounded in action. He rejoined his unit on the 11th of November 1917.
He returned to Australia on the 13th of April 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 25th of May 1918 due to pneumonia.
