William Alfred Harrison (SN 132A) born in Melbourne, was a 25 year old labourer when he enlisted in Ballarat on March 2nd 1916. Assigned to the 39th Infantry Battalion he embarked from Melbourne aboard the Ascanius on May 27th and sailed to England. In October he crossed to France and was transferred to the 8th Battalion. In November pleurisy forced his evacuation to hospital in England. In July 1917 he was transferred to the Australian Army Ordnance Corps and completed his service without significant incident. He returned to Australia aboard the Konigin Luise, disembarked at Sydney on February 4th 1920 and was discharged in Melbourne on April 12th.
