Biography

Edgar Llewellyn Wynne was a single 30 year old salesman at the time of his enlistment on the 8th of November 1915 as a Private with the 5th Battalion, 16th Reinforcements. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A23 Suffolk on the 1st of April 1916. On the 26th of July 1916 he was appointed Corporal, and then promoted again on the 30th of August 1917 to Lance Sergeant. On September 26th 1917 Edgar was wounded in action with general contusions, while in England, he was admitted to hospital again on the 28th of December 1917 suffering from Ferunculosis.
He returned to Australia on the 12th of June 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 20th of July 1918 suffering from myalgia and debility.
