Sydney Augusta Oliver was a single 29 year old grocer when he enlisted on the 11th of March 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A33 Ayrshire on the 3rd of July 1916. He was promoted to Extra Regimental Corporal on the 16th of January 1919. He returned to Australia on the 27th of July 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 10th of September 1919.
