James Lewis Nicholls was a clerk living in Albert Park when he enlisted on 17th March 1916. He was born in Ballarat and was 24 years old and single. He was drafted to 10th Machine Gun Company, with Regimental No. 102. On 3rd September 1918 he died of wounds received at Mont St Quentin and is buried in St Sever Extension, Rauen.
