Biography

John Vincent (SN 2407) born in Ballarat, was a married 24 year old railway employee when he enlisted in Melbourne on May 8th 1916. He embarked aboard the Port Lincoln on November 20th and sailed to England for service with the 37th Infantry Battalion. He had persistent health problems that ruled him out of service in France. He returned to Australia aboard the Borda, disembarked at Melbourne on November 21st 1917 and was discharged on December 24th ‘medically unfit, bronchitis’.
