Biography

Bertrand William Boyd (SN 6225) born at Avoca, was a 33 year old carpenter when he enlisted in Ballarat on May 5th 1916. Attached to the 8th Infantry Battalion, he embarked aboard the Euripides on September 11th and sailed to England. Ill health prevented him from deployment on the Western Front and he was returned to Australia aboard the Euripides and was discharged on October 19th 1917 'medically unfit, chronic myocarditis’.
