Percival Rowe (SN 6085) was born in Ballarat but enlisted at Geelong on March 20th 1916. The 34 year old, married, railway employee was posted to the 14th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne on August 1st 1916 on board the Militiades. After training in England, he was posted to France in May 1917 but spent a couple of months in hospital with rheumatism and trench fever. He rejoined his unit just two weeks before he was killed in action at Polygon Wood on September 26th 1917. He has no known grave, and his name is recorded on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
