Born in Ballarat, William Ernest Lowe was a married 25 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Geelong, Victoria on the 3rd of June 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A9 Shropshire on the 25th of September 1916.
William returned to Australia on the 22nd of April 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 30th of May 1919.
