Biography

Born in Ballarat, Stanley Laurence Howard was a single 21 year old upholsterer at the time of his enlistment in Broken Hill, New South Wales on the 8th of June 1916. His unit embarked from Adelaide, South Australia, on board HMAT A70 Ballarat on the 12th of August 1916.
On the 28th of February 1917, Stanley was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to his left side. He was invalided to the U.K on the 30th of March 1917.
Stanley returned to Australia on the 9th of November 1917 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 1st of February 1918.
