Biography

Leslie John Young was a single 21 year old farm labourer at the time of his enlistment on the 14th of June 1916 as a Private with the 29th Battalion, 9th Reinforcements. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A73 Commonwealth on the 19th of September 1916.He was discharged as medically unfit on the 2nd of February 1918 due to æflat feet' and returned home on the 15th of November 1917.
