Biography

An accountant by trade, George Laverick was a married 25 year old when he enlisted in his hometown of Ballarat on the 12th of October 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on the 4th of August 1917.
On the 5th of April 1917 he was promoted to Second Lieutenant, and then again to Lieutenant on the 1st of April 1918.
George returned to Australia on the 28th of September 1918, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 6th of December 1918 due to gas poisoning and fibrosis.
