Cyril Joseph Fitzpatrick (SN 6319) born at Ballarat, was a 23 year old clerk when he enlisted in Ballarat on October 24th 1916. Assigned to the 24th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Hororata on November 23rd and sailed to England. In May 1917 he crossed to France to serve with the 21st Infantry Battalion. In July 1918 he was wounded in action, but the nature of his wound is not recorded on his service record. At war’s end he returned to Australia on the Bakara, disembarked on September 27th 1919 and was discharged soon after.
