Biography

Thomas Goldsmith Hall was born in Taymore, VIC and was a Miner by trade when he enlisted in the 40th Battalion, B Company on 23 February 1916 at the age of 37. His unit embarked from Hobart, Tasmania, on board HMAT A35 Berrima on 1 July 1916. His time was relatively trouble free until June 14th 1918 when he was hospitalised suffering from severe joint pain. He was subsequently diagnosed as suffering from rheumatic fever and was returned to Australia æmedically unfit'.
