Biography

Conrad G. Zilles was a single 23 year old carpenter when he enlisted as a Private for the 2nd Machine Gun Company on the 27th of November 1916. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A9 Shropshire on the 11th of May 1917.
On the 28th of January 1919 Conrad was promoted to Lance Corporal. He returned to Australia on the 2nd on July 1919 and was discharged on the 17th of August 1919.
