Biography

John (Jack) Francis McIntosh (SN 7510) was born in Ballarat and enlisted at Blackboy Hill near Perth, WA, on April 26th 1916. He was a commercial traveller, married and aged 23. He was allocated to the 13th Infantry Battalion and embarked from Fremantle in June 1917 on board the Borda. After training in England, he was posted to France in April 1918 but was killed in action only two months later on June 2nd 1918. He is buried in the Adelaide Cemetery at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
