Frederick James Whykes was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single and was employed as a Tram Conductor. He enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 26. He volunteered and was stationed with the 5th Battalion, 24th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 7337. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 8th of November 1918. Tree number 2839.
