George Leonard Whitehand was born in Learmonth, Victoria, was single and was employed as a Grazier. He enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 25. He volunteered and was stationed with the 12th Australian Field Artillery with the Regimental number 34142. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 1st of July 1919. Tree number 2850.
