Edward Osborne was a farmer from Clarke's Hill when he enlisted on 20th July 1917. He was born at Clarke's Hill, and was 20 years old and single. He was drafted to the 23rd Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 2740. He was killed in the fighting at Heincourt near Albert on 17th April 1918, and is buried in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery, France.
