Stanley George Woods (SN 3539) born at Broomfield, was a26 year old married driver when he enlisted at Ballarat on February 5th 1917. He embarked aboard the Boorara on May 10th and sailed to Egypt where he joined the 4th Light Horse Regiment. During his service he avoided battle wounds but was hospitalised with tonsilitis and malaria. He returned to Australia aboard the Essex, disembarked at Melbourne on July 25th 1919 and was discharged on August 24th.
